What is QUID:Invent?

QUID:Invent is a recurring hacker challenge sponsored by QUID Works Inc. to encourage developers to use QUID and to reward the best results. Think of it like a hackathon, but with more time and less pizza.

Who can enter QUID:Invent?

Any resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec) that is at least 18 years old on the submission date and is legally eligible to enter the challenge under the laws of their state/province, and country.

Can teams enter QUID:Invent?

There is no restriction on the number of people that work on a single submission but the submission to QUID needs to come from a single person. If the team's project is selected to win a prize, then that prize will be given to the person that submitted the project to the challenge.

What can I build?

You can build anything that uses QUID to accept small payments, but we will look at the originality and potential target market size in evaluating the submissions.

What is the submission deadline?

The next submission deadline is midnight (EDT) on June 28, 2019.

Who owns the submissions?

All entraants retain full ownership of their work.

What do I need to include in my submission?

A complete submission needs to include:

  • submission source code and documentation (made accessible to QUID team members)
  • an operational application accessible via the Internet in either a live (real funds) or demonstration (test funds) capacity.

What are the prizes?

One (1) Grand Prize, including:

  • $5,000 USD cash
  • Your project promoted by QUID

Three (3) Consolation Prizes including:

  • $1,000 USD cash
  • Your project promoted by QUID 

Can I use open source technologies? Does my project need to be open source?

We encourage the use of, and contribution to, open source projects but your submission does not need to be open source.
